What is Hospice? Hospice care is a choice that
enables the patient to live the highest quality of life until the end as
defined by the patient's own beliefs and values, in the comfort of his or
her home and surrounded by family and friends.
Hospice provides support to help patients and families deal with any unresolved issues as well as coping with their feelings. Volunteers, pastoral counseling, grief counseling, and social workers to assist with legal and funeral arrangements are a part of this special care. WHERE IS HOSPICE CARE PROVIDED? Hospice care is provided wherever "home" may be. Whether at their own home, assisted living facility, nursing home, or hospital, our patients receive the same quality, compassionate care no matter the location. View a listing of nursing home and assisted living facilities where we provide care. Check out our FAQ page to find out more about hospice care.

Only a licensed, certified hospice like Hospice of Randolph County, can access the Hospice Medicare Benefit for you. This entitlement covers medications related to the primary illness, most durable medical equipment, and supplies. In-patient respite is also available to provide rest for the caregivers. "I could never repay the kindness and compassion shown by your staff toward my mother during her terminal illness...Her ability to fight as long and courageously as she did was due to the fact that my father was able to keep her at home during the illness. Without your support, this would not have been possible" -Hospice patient family member
