The 34th Annual Auction & BBQ, Hospice of Randolph’s signature fundraiser, is scheduled for Saturday, November 2 at Southwestern Randolph High School (SWRHS), located at 1641 Hopewell Friends Road in Asheboro. Join us for an evening of great food and shopping at our live and silent auction. There will be something for everyone. The Randolph County Livestock & Poultry Association is preparing and serving dine-in and take-out BBQ plates from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Dinner tickets are $10 each and available for purchase at the event or in advance at Hospice of Randolph’s office, located at 416 Vision Drive in Asheboro. Also beginning at 3:30 p.m., the community is invited to the silent auction which will showcase a wide variety of items including pottery, home décor, specialty cakes and gift baskets. In addition, special “Buy it now!” silent auction tables will give bidders the opportunity to purchase items like gift certificates and jewelry immediately without having to wait until the auction ends. Highest bidders at the silent auction can claim their winnings at 6 p.m., the official closing time.
Attendees are encouraged to stick around for the main event–the live auction. Beginning at 6:45 p.m., items including new furniture, antiques, sports memorabilia, pottery pieces from local potters, and artwork are set to be auctioned. Celebrity guest auctioneer, Cindy Farmer of FOX-8 WGHP, joins guest announcer, WKXR Radio’s Larry Reid, to host a fun evening to benefit hospice programming and grief support services in our community. Those wishing to participate in the live auction must register in the SWRHS gym to receive their bid card. Bidder registration will begin at 3:30 p.m. All forms of payment will be accepted at this event including credit/debit cards, checks and cash. Special thank you to sponsors, auction donors, and volunteers who help make the Auction & BBQ successful each year.
