Volunteer Training Sessions on Feb. 24 & Feb. 25Posted on Feb 7th, 2017 | Perma Link
If you are looking for a way to make a difference in someone’s life and give back to our community, we have the perfect opportunity! Hospice of Randolph County has an urgent need for patient volunteers that provide companionship to hospice patients at their home, in local skilled nursing and assisted living facilities, or at the Randolph Hospice House. These volunteers spend time sitting with patients, reading to them or even watching a favorite TV show together. Lisa Huffman, HRC’s Volunteer Coordinator shared, “Our volunteers provide companionship, emotional support and an extra hand to the patients and families we serve at Hospice of Randolph County. The love and care they give to these patients and families is indispensable.” Volunteer opportunities also exist for those interested in office work, practical work (possible handyman work on our campus), maintaining outside flowers and assisting with landscaping needs.
Those interested in volunteering in one of these areas are required to attend a special one-day training event on Friday, February 24th OR Saturday, February 25th in order to learn more about the organization and valuable role of volunteers. Each training event will be from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. at our Administrative Office located at 416 Vision Drive in Asheboro. Lunch as well as materials will be provided free of charge. Pre-registration is required. To pre-register and schedule an interview with Lisa Huffman, please call 336-672-9300. We would love for you to join us!
