Volunteer Training for Adults on April 27Posted on Mar 23rd, 2018 | Perma Link
If you are looking for a way to make a difference in someone’s life and give back to our community, we have the perfect opportunity! We currently have needs for both clerical and patient volunteers.
Clerical volunteers assist our office with administrative tasks such as filing documents, preparing bereavement mailings and making admission notebooks. Patient volunteers provide companionship to hospice patients at their home, in local skilled nursing and assisted living facilities, or at the Randolph Hospice House. These volunteers spend time sitting with patients, reading to them or even watching a favorite TV show together.
Lisa Huffman, HRC’s Volunteer Coordinator shared, “Our volunteers provide companionship, emotional support and an extra hand to the patients and families we serve at Hospice of Randolph County. The love and care they give to these patients and families are indispensable.”
Those interested in volunteering in one of these areas are required to attend a special one-day training event on Friday, April 27, in order to learn more about the organization and valuable role of volunteers. The training session will be from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. at our Administrative Office located at 416 Vision Drive in Asheboro. Lunch, as well as materials, will be provided free of charge.
Pre-registration is required. To pre-register and schedule an interview with Lisa Huffman, please call 336-672-9300 (or) email lisa.huffman@hospiceofrand
If you would like to volunteer but are not available on that date, please call us and we can set up an additional training opportunity!
