Asheboro, NC
– Hospice of Randolph County announced today that the Sealy Corporation,
located in Trinity, recently contributed $25,000 towards the “Imagine
a Home” capital campaign. Sealy is the largest bedding manufacturer
in North America and has been a leader in charitable giving among
national corporations.
“Sealy goes above and
beyond when it comes to giving to those in need,” shared Rhonda L.
Burch, MA, MBA, President/CEO for Hospice of Randolph County. “A quick
glance at the news section of their website reveals just how much they
give to help people across the nation. We are honored that Sealy
acknowledged the need for a hospice home in Randolph County and chose to
contribute to the cause.”
To-date, approximately
$1.367 million of the $1.55 million campaign goal has been raised.
Through continued contributions from businesses, foundations and local
citizens, Hospice of Randolph County hopes to reach its goal in time for
‘ground-breaking’ in late summer of 2008.
The future 10-bed
hospice home facility will be designed to accommodate patients who are
nearing the end-of-life and have special needs that can no longer be
managed at their home. The design of the hospice facility will center on
creating a ‘home-like’ environment in which patients and families will
be comfortable while simultaneously receiving highly-skilled inpatient
care and support.
The home will be located
beside the organization’s current administrative office facility; only a
quarter-mile from Interstate 73/74 (Highway 220). The construction
process will take approximately 12 months to complete. The total budget
for the project is just over $3,000,000. Additional funds will be
secured through financing and reserves.
