Job Description:

Exciting opportunity for a Weekend RN to provide end of life care to patients, and their families, in our state-of-the-art inpatient facility.  The hours are 7 PM - 7 AM Saturday and Sunday. Candidates should possess excellent assessment skills and strong organizational abilities as well as strong critical thinking skills. Must be able to work within an interdisciplinary team and possess effective communication skills, in both oral and written form.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Current North Carolina license as a Registered Nurse in good standing with the N.C. Board of Nursing.
• Current CPR certification.
• CHPN certification a plus.
• One year of clinincal nursing experience.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license, current automobile liability insurance at limits required by HRC, and reliable transportation.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.

Bereavement Counselor

Job Description:

This full time position provides individual, group and family counseling and support services to persons experiencing grief over the death of someone important to them. These services are based on the assessed needs and wishes of the client and are designed to affect satisfactory outcomes for coping with the loss.

Essential Job Functions

  • Assesses client’s coping ability including a review of physical and psychological status, anticipated socioeconomic changes, and the availability of a positive support system and evaluates whether the client is experiencing normal or complicated grief.
  • Develops and provides timely implementation of a plan of care according to the assessed needs and expressed wishes of the client. The plan of care will promote successful coping skills and will be consistent with all the appropriate rules, regulations and standards of care.
  • Provides bereavement counseling and crisis intervention as necessary to develop client’s coping skills and to provide emotional support.
  • Reassesses client’s progress at each contact and amends plan of care as necessary.
  • Clearly documents all interactions according to organizational policy and procedures for timeliness, content, credentialing and records management.
  • Plans and facilitates support groups and social support opportunities at least on a quarterly basis.
  • Plans community grief education and supportive programming throughout the year. Provides programs in the organization/community related to grief, successful strategies for coping with loss and all Hospice of the Piedmont services.
  • Makes follow-up phone calls in order to check on client’s progress and complete bereavement assessments.
  • Assists with maintaining bereavement mailing program.
  • Maintains client confidentiality at all times.
  • Complies with Grief Counseling Center standards.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or divinity
  • Licensed by the NC Certification and Licensure Board as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed by the NC Board of Licensed Professional Counselors or eligible for licensure as a LCSW or LPC in the state of NC
  • Two years related experience

Registered Nurse Case Manager, Full-Time

Registered nurse needed for a full-time Case Manager position at Hospice of Randolph County.  Must be available to share in call rotation weeknights and weekends. Individual will provide end of life care to patients residing in the home and facility settings.

Candidates should possess excellent assessment skills and strong organizational abilities as well as strong critical thinking skills. Must be able to work within an interdisciplinary team and possess effective oral and written communication skills.  

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have current NCBON licensing without restriction
  • Minimum of one year experience in an acute care setting

  • Hospice certification a plus

IPU Hospice Aide, Full-Time Nights

Job Description:

Opening available for a Certified Nursing Assistant to work 12-hour night shifts at our state-of-the-art inpatient facility.

  1. Must possess, at a minimum, a high school diploma or GED.
  2. Graduate of an approved Nurse Aide I course who has successfully completed the competence examination and is currently listed as an NA I with the Division of Health Service Regulation Healthcare Personnel Registry with no substantiated findings.
  3. A minimum of one year’s work experience as a nursing assistant is required. 
  4. Palliative care and/or long-term care experience is a plus.
  5. Must possess a valid driver’s license, current automobile liability insurance at limits required by HRC, and reliable transportation.
  6. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
  7. Ability to work flexible schedule.
