Volunteer Training for Adult Volunteers on July 27
Posted on Jun 17th, 2018 | Perma Link(Open)
If you are looking for a way to make a difference in someone’s life and give back to our community, we have the perfect opportunity! We currently have needs for both clerical and patient volunteers.
Clerical volunteers assist our office with administrative tasks such as filing documents, preparing bereavement mailings and making admission notebooks. Patient volunteers provide companionship to hospice patients at their home, in local skilled nursing and assisted living facilities, or at the Randolph Hospice House. These volunteers spend time sitting with patients, reading to them or even watching a favorite TV show together.
Those interested in volunteering in one of these areas are required to attend a special one-day training event on Friday, July 27, in order to learn more about our organization and valuable role of volunteers. The training session will be from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. at our Administrative Office located at 416 Vision Drive in Asheboro. Lunch, as well as materials, will be provided free of charge.
Pre-registration is required by July 20. To pre-register and schedule an interview with Lisa Huffman, please call 336-672-9300 (or) email lisa.huffman@hospiceofrandolph.org.
If you would like to volunteer but are not available on that date, please call us and we can set up an additional training opportunity!

Hospice of Randolph Receives Hospice Honors "Elite" Award
Posted on May 23rd, 2018 | Perma Link(Open)
HEALTHCAREfirst the leading provider of Web-based home health and hospice software, outsourced billing and coding services, and Deyta Analytics, recently announced the recipients of the sixth annual Hospice Honors, a prestigious program that recognizes hospices providing the highest level of quality as measured from the caregiver’s point of view. Hospice of Randolph County was named as a recipient of the 2018 Honors program with “Elite” status.
“We are excited to recognize the 2018 Hospice Honors recipients for their hard work and dedication to providing exceptional care,” said J. Kevin Porter, President & CEO of HEALTHCAREfirst. “I congratulate Hospice of Randolph County on its success in achieving this highest of honors.”
Award criteria were based on Hospice CAHPS survey results for an evaluation period of October 2016 through September 2017. In order to receive the award, hospices must have partnered with Deyta Analytics, a division of HEALTHCAREfirst, as their survey partner and must have had at least one complete survey returned in each quarter of the evaluation period. Award recipients were identified by evaluating hospices’ performance on a set of 24 quality indicator measures. Individual hospice performance scores were aggregated from all surveys with a final survey status of complete for the evaluation period and were compared on a question-by-question basis to a national performance score calculated from all partnering hospices contained in Deyta Analytics’ Hospice CAHPS database.
HEALTHCAREfirst provides cloud-based technologies and services to improve business and clinical operations for over four thousand home health and hospice providers across the United States. Based in Springfield, MO and one of the fastest growing providers of its kind, the company provides agency and clinical management software, outsourced revenue cycle management services (billing, coding and chart audits), and cloud-based “Deyta” analytics and program management solutions, in any combination. HEALTHCAREfirst’s breadth of solutions offers agencies a single source to improve patient care, create operational efficiencies, increase profitability and simplify CMS compliance. With HEALTHCAREfirst, agencies can focus on patients instead of paperwork. Hospice Honors Elite honors hospices scoring above the Deyta Analytics National Performance Score on all 24 of the evaluated questions. Hospice of Randolph County, who is celebrating its 35th Anniversary this year in serving patients and families throughout Randolph County, is proud to have earned this “Elite” status for the second consecutive year.
