Hospice hosts documentary screening and caregiver discussion

To understand how we can create valuable solutions for caregivers, Hospice of Randolph, an affiliate of Hospice of the Piedmont, is hosting a screening and discussion of the documentary “Caregiver: A Love Story” at the Sunset Theatre on Tuesday, May 9th at 6:30 p.m.

Hospice hosts documentary screening and caregiver discussion

(Asheboro, NC) – According to the latest update from AARP and the National Alliance for Caregiving, there are 53 million unpaid caregivers in the United States today. To understand how we can create valuable solutions for caregivers, Hospice of Randolph, an affiliate of Hospice of the Piedmont, is hosting a screening and discussion of the documentary “Caregiver: A Love Story” at the Sunset Theatre on Tuesday, May 9^th at 6:30 p.m.

“Caregiver: A Love Story” is an award-winning documentary directed and produced by Dr. Jessica Zitter, a palliative care physician and national advocate for hospice programming. The documentary captures the real-life story of a caregiver and highlights the challenges and joys that come with the role.

“We all know someone who is a caregiver,” says the organization’s CEO Trent Cockerham. “After watching the documentary, I was challenged with how I could create within myself a sense of empathy and concern for this growing healthcare crisis.”

“Together as an organization, we began to look within to see where we could provide key support to caregivers in a more beneficial way,” says CNO/SVP of Clinical Services Susan Cox. “We believe the solutions we have developed through many discussions and internal considerations and collaborations can be a catalyst for greater change within our community as a whole.”

Hospice of Randolph invites the community to join us in viewing and discussing “Caregiver: A Love Story”. Discussion panelists will include Hospice team members as well as community partners. This event is free to the public, but registration is encouraged. Sunset Theatre is located at 234 Sunset Ave., Asheboro.
