Guest Bio: April Franklin has more than a decade of experience in the healthcare field and has a strong passion for addressing the needs of family caregivers with a particular focus on reaching a new wave of caregivers – millennials and male caregivers. Her love for working with seniors and their caregivers led her to obtain a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Science in Gerontology. After completing her graduate programs, she was instrumental in the development of a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization to meet the needs of the caregivers in her church and the surrounding community. Through that organization and through her past work as a Family Caregiver Support Specialist, April has provided support to hundreds of family caregivers and has connected them to valuable resources that empower and equip them on their caregiving journey. She is a dedicated advocate who believes that addressing the issues impacting family caregivers, and in particular millennial caregivers, is necessary for maintaining healthy communities in the future.
